I have a three year old son who knows how to use a computer. Who, instead of freaking out why a page says unable to connect to the internet, clicks on the network and sharing center to connect to the internet. This he figured out on his own without any help from his parents at all. He even can remember passwords for our computers so he can use one that is available without yelling for us for help. And disabled parental control I set-up for him while navigating through the computer that was for his own use. We encourage him to learn by letting him surf online and play games and watch videos (we approve). But we also limit it to where he still has time to play with his toys and interact with us. Despite how good he is with computers though the husband and I agreed that we will encourage him to be more active and pursue outdoor activities so he will not be like his brother who used to spend all his time playing with his ps3 instead of doing something productive. Sure if we can afford it (and he asks it from us) we will probably give him a ps3 but he has to know his limits. Like with the computer, he also has to have a set time for games. And we will make sure he will agree to it.
