We received bad news a few days ago. The husband’s younger sister went to the doctor for a check-up and was told that she has a lump near her underarm and also on her breast. She was also told it might be cancerous. The doctor told her the lumps needed to be removed. The problem is she does not have insurance and she is also afraid that once they cut her up (her words) it might get it worse. We don’t know what to tell her. She has been calling the husband since they are closer than the rest of the siblings and they talk for long periods. I hope we could help her financially but we also have our own problems right now. We can help her by praying for her and her family. She said she has decided not to get an operation and let it run its course if ever it is breast cancer. It is sad. I hope there is a way out of this. I hope the lumps are not malignant. It is ironic since when we were up there to visit they talked about their childhood friend who was suffering from mesothelioma and how that person is suffering and also about another friend who had breast cancer who had an operation and died after a few months. Even then she said she will not do what the friend did if it does not mean 100% survival. Now that she was told about the lumps she still says she will not have an operation and she sounds so brave but I think she is afraid. Who wouldn’t be? I hope she will be strong. We always let her know we love her and that we are always here for her and her family.
