oh, my God!

Is my three year old’s new favorite expression. I heard him say the words while he was on my computer watching an educational video for kids. He must have heard this from his father since I know for a fact I don’t use the words at all. He sounded so funny and so adult that I had to hide a laugh. I wonder what he is going to say next. I sure hope he does not pick up his brother’s foul language or it will not be funny at all.

surprise

A female friend asked me if I could send her some beauty products the next time we send a balikbayan box to my family in Leyte. I have not seen her in years but we communicate online when she is not busy. We have been friends since college, even shared a room when I was still in PI working. I know how she loves to dress up and to use make up and buy perfumes so I know what to get for her. I already have an idea on what to buy as gifts for her. Should we be able to visit this year I will probably just bring the gifts but if not then the items will go in the box. I hope she will like what I will buy for her. I already have her favorite brand of cologne. I need a few more items and some chocolates and I am sure she will be ecstatic to know about it. I will not tell her yet though so she will not be disappointed if the items will not get to her earlier. It will be a surprise for her birthday.

another vehicle?

We have two cars right now. Both old but still functional. The husband is planning to buy another vehicle, a truck. He said we might need it should we move to the country. And I think he is right. Only we are still in the city and we already are paying for insurance for two cars. When you add another car to that list we will have to pay more. And I don’t think we have the capacity to do that. Sure it is easy to get auto insurance quote for a truck but the problem will arise when we have to pay it. Maybe if we will sell or trade one of the cars it will be possible. But I love our SUV and he has an affinity to the other car so we have another problem. I have started talking about not needing another vehicle at the moment and talks about it has ceased for right now. I don’t know what is going to happen when we get our tax refund though. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

scary discovery

The other day, I thought about dressing up. You know putting on nice clothes and wearing sexy shoes with a good amount of heels to make me look human, lol. I actually liked what I saw in the mirror. My hips may be wider and my sides bulged a bit but dressing up always does wonders. It made me feel like a new person. I decided to complete the new look with a new hairdo. There was one thing that I found odd though. I was not comfortable wearing high heeled shoes anymore. The horror! I am talking about a girl who could outrun her male cousins wearing heels and now I can’t even walk properly with one! What am I supposed to do? Has this something to do with having a child? Have I ruined my fashion sense? Or whatever little there was I had? I was dumbfounded. I was so uncomfortable I ditched the shoes altogether and grabbed my tennis shoes. The outfit did not look good together but I was comfortable. Now I know what I need to work on in the next few months. If I have to start wearing high heeled sandals at home just to get back on track I will. I can’t really wear tennis shoes all the time, can I?

a little info

A few days ago when I read a post about hgh I thought it is only used for growth. I did not even think it could have anti-aging results like reduced wrinkles, increase in energy, among other results. Or that is what I read on one website which reviews different hgh supplements supposedly for the information of the public. I skimmed the front page but did not read more. I don’t really see the need to read more on the topic because I don’t think I will use it in the future. I am happy with what I am and I know I will eventually get old and wrinkled but it is something I will have to embrace. My aunts would love to get hold of this though since all of them refuse to be called old and are doing their best to prevent wrinkles from showing in their faces. They prefer they be called mature as opposed to old, lol. As for me and my energy level, I may have to work on that since I have been lacking in exercise lately.

online task

I was right, the pork neck adobo was good. Very good, in fact. I already had three small pieces and I want more. Well, it is still early so I think I can still have a full meal. It is a good thing the husband is asleep or else he will be laughing at me now. Earlier this evening he asked me if I wanted to share his sandwich and I said I was not hungry. I sure look like I am starving the way I devoured the adobo a while ago, lol. Talk about contradicting myself. Anyway, now that my tummy is a bit stuffed I need to do some task the husband told me to find. He wants me to order another set of hair clippers because I broke one of the attachments on our old set by accident and instead of buying just one attachment he wants me to order a whole set. And he wants me to look at spring plungers although for what purpose I do not know. I have been trying to see what it is for but I have no luck yet. He really needs to explain more when he wants me to do something for him next time. There are things that I am just not familiar with. Maybe he will tell me more tomorrow.

pork neck adobo

Tonight I cooked pork neck adobo. Adobo is a popular Philippine dish which uses soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and onion as spices. Normally pure meat is used but since I am not normal (lol) I am using pork neck because I like a challenge when I am eating. Seriously, I like my meat with a little bit of bone in it. Besides, the bony ones are usually cheaper. I marinated the pork neck first because I wanted it to absorb the flavor of the soy sauce and the vinegar. Then I cooked it for a long time making sure the meat is very tender. Now I am cooling a “small” plate of cooked adobo so I can taste it. This is not dinner, mainly snacks :D I know it tastes good if the smell is any indication. It is a good thing I steamed rice this morning since adobo is perfect with rice. It is sinfully good. I know I will end up searching for the top 10 fat burners after I eat but I can’t resist the food. I will deal with guilt later.

social networking

Every morning I check my Facebook account. Yes, I do have an account there after realizing that most of my friends from another networking site were doing the switch. I had to do it too so as not to be left behind. Anyway, I check on my account to read on what my friends are up to and to tend to my farm and cafe. Unlike other members though I don’t stay glued to it all the time. But I must confess I check on it several times in a day. As long as I can get away from my son’s claws, lol. I like to read my friends’ shout outs. What they are doing and all that. We also swap recipes and share stories. Most of us are stay-at-home moms. Some had really nice careers before getting married and having kids but decided to quit to take care of their respective families. A few, like me, are thinking of either going back to school or work. Whichever is attainable first. Back to the topic, I also await updates from my fellow moms on what their kids have done that are either amusing or annoying. Our kids are about the same age for some reason so we all can relate and we actually laugh at each others experiences. It is time to check on my account so see you all later.
